Benin is a tiny country located in West Africa between Togo and Nigeria.
The capital is Porto Novo and the international airport is Cotonou.
Located in West Africa, Benin (formerly Dahomey) is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the South, Togo and Burkina Faso to the West, Niger to the North and Nigeria to the East. It stretches for 750km from North to South.
Its geographical location makes it an unavoidable transit area for game, in particular for buffaloes, offering everything they need for sustenance.
This country has a long hunting tradition.
The hunting area is situated in the north of the country right on the edge of the Pendjari national park. It is a bushy savannah with plains and rolling hills.
Several waterholes attract the West African Savanna Buffaloes, the Western Roans, the Western Hartebeest and many other game.
The area is famous for the density of Buffaloes and Roans, and the very good trophy quality of Hartebeest, Harnessed Bushbuck and Nagor Reedbuck.
